Trying a new auction site

I have been trying out a new auction site called Tophatter, while it started out ok, with a few sales here and there, it has now become a huge flop. Not because my items won't sell, but because of the way they have it set up, I (and many many others) can not even schedule anything to auction.
While the concept of a live auction site is really cool, tophatter has a lot to learn about making it so everyone can utilize their platform.

During the time of trying out tophatter, I saw someone mention outbid, another live auction site, so being the curious person I am, I decided to give it a look-see. I liked what I saw, and at this time, there are no fees, so I followed the example of the staff at outbid and created some test (mock) auctions, just to get a feel for it, as well as attended some of their mock auctions so I could see what it is like from the bidders point of view. Sufficient to say, I was and am wowed by outbid.

Outbid has only been public for a week or so at the time of this post, so there is no huge influx of people (yet). Even so, they have gotten a good start on a great concept. The basis of outbid is that you... YOU create your own auction, with your own items, you will not be competing against others since it will be YOUR auction. You decide when it will take place, and you spread the word. Post to your blog, send notices to your email list, pin on pinterest, tweet and whatever else you do to promote your store, you can and should do, to promote your auction.
With outbid, it is not just another automated counter counting down till no more bids, YOU are the auctioneer and you can (if you so choose) use the mic, so your buyers can actually hear you as you point out the key points of your product, get caught up in the excitement, and even answer their questions. If you are not comfortable being on mic and have a friend who is, pass the mic to them, let them be your auctioneer, or heck, you can even share the mic where you are both on the air!

That's not all.... got questions? Staff are always willing to help and will even help you with your auction if you need it.

Wait... what? You say you have friends who want to sell stuff too, and you would rather do it as one auction... sure why not... list their items with you, and when theirs are on the block, pass or share the mic.

And don't forget the lobby, before the auction starts, the lobby opens, people can come in, and mingle with one another, chat with the auctioneer(s) and one another, and of course browse through the items for sale.
The excitement and thrill of a live auction from the comfort of your home... wow!

Outbid looks to me, like it will be the next bid thing for online auctions!
Visit outbid today and be sure to RSVP for my auction which includes handmade items made by yours truly!
